Te gek moet je het niet gaan bedenken. Er is een hele goede reden waarom ik samen met Linsay in een bruidsjurk op de foto sta. Zijn we stiekem getrouwd? Was ik dronken? Geen van beide, maar we speelden we een scene na waarin Ross en Rachel het wel overkwam.

Don’t get the crazy idea here. There is a very good reason why I am on the picture together with Linsay in a wedding dress. Are we secretly married? Was I drunk? Neither, but we played a scene in which Ross and Rachel actually were.

Vorige week vertelde ik jullie nog over een verrassing die ik voor Linsay had gepland. Wel, dat bleken dus twee tickets voor Friendsfest in Brighton, Engeland te zijn. Friendsfest is zoals de naam doet vermoeden een tijdelijk evenement waarbij diehard fans de sets van een van de meest iconische tv sitcoms kunnen gaan bezichtigen.

Last week I told you about a surprise that I had planned for Linsay. Well, that turned out to be two tickets for Friendsfest in Brighton, England. Friendsfest is, as the name suggests, a temporary event where diehard fans can visit the sets of one of the most iconic TV sitcoms of the 90s: Friends.

The One Where We Were At Central Perk

Diehard fans zoals wijzelf. De complete dvdbox hebben we in onze kast staan en dus mocht een bezoek aan Friendsfest niet ontbreken. Op de locatie stonden heel wat verschillende momentopnames uit de serie waar je een selfiemomentje had. Eentje hiervan kon je hierboven al bewonderen. Anderen waren de beroemde Pivotscene waar Ross, Rachel en Chandler de sofa langs de trap omhoog moeten krijgen, de gele taxi van Phoebe, de kalkoen en hoe kan het ook anders… “We were on a BREAAAAK”!

Diehard fans like ourselves. We have the complete DVD box at home and so a visit to Friendsfest could not be missed. At the location there were a lot of different settings from the series where you had a selfie moment. One of them you could already admire above. Others were the famous Pivotscene where Ross, Rachel and Chandler should get the sofa up the stairs, the yellow taxi from Phoebe, the turkey and how could it be … “We were on a BREAAAK”!

Uiteraard kon je er ook iets eten bij Joey’s pizza of Phoebe’s Vegetarian Buffay.

Offcourse you could grab something to eat at Joey’s Pizza or Phoebe’s Vegetarian Buffay.

Nadien gingen we een koffie drinken in Central Perk. We namen plaats in de iconische sofa en Linsay kon zelfs even haar cover van ‘Smelly Cat’ laten horen.

Afterwards we got some coffee at Central Perk. We got a seat in the legendary sofa and had our own cover of ‘Smelly Cat’ played by Linsay. 

Joey doesn’t share food? I think Linsay doesn’t either!

The One Where We Were At Both Apartments

Het hoogtepunt van Friendsfest was echter een bezoek aan het appartement van Joey en Chandler en het appartement aan de andere kant van de gang van Monica en Rachel. Dit was in een afgesloten gedeelte en toegankelijk met het tijdslot op ons ticket.

Eerst kregen we al een voorsmaakje met verschillende items die tentoongesteld werden zoals de kalkoen en bijhorende gele zonnebril, Phoebe’s gitaar, haar pornodvd, de GellerCup, enz… En wie herkent er dit kunstwerkje nog?

The highlight of Friendsfest, however, was a visit to the apartment of Joey and Chandler and the apartment on the other side of the hallway of Monica and Rachel. This was in a closed area and accessible with the time lock on our ticket.

First we had a foretaste with different props that were exhibited like the turkey and accompanying yellow sunglasses, Phoebe’s guitar, her porn DVD, the GellerCup, etc … And who can recognize this artwork?

En dan waren we eindelijk binnen!

Na het vele rondwandelen zette ik me nog even in de sofa van Monica (met propere voeten!)

After many walking around I put myself in the sofa of Monica (with clean feet!) At least I thought we were on a break!
